Gracie's One Card at a Time

Lovers sometimes have trouble making life decisions. They are swayed by passion, deep emotion and logic, each of which can battle the others. Passion can masquerade as emotion. Emotion can step on logic’s toes. But the Lovers card tells us to hold on to our horses. Hold back on all decisions until your mind is clear. If it is real, lover-boy, or -girl will wait for you to decide. And, you both will be a whole lot happier knowing your decisions were made on solid ground. “Learn to wish that everything should come to pass exactly as it does.” Epictetus

Strangely enough, at times of extreme stress our feelings of love can amplify. With pain we can experience an emotional opening and a feeling of rawness where everything feels more alive. Colours are more vibrant, our skin is more sensitive and we cry easily. The Lovers card is here to tell us that we can find love in harsh times, we can experience beauty in the face of pain and that falling in love is a close sister to walking through pain. Every moment of one’s existence one is growing into more or retreating into less. One is always living a little more or dying a little bit. -Norman Mailer
